Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away -- you don't want to ruin the book for others)
- Share the title and author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers
- Leave a comment on MizB's Teaser Tuesday post (HERE) and include your link so everyone can find your post.
Hopefully it wasn't damaged too bad.
ReplyDeleteNot damaged at all, but Tess was sure surprised when a trap door opened underneath her rug!
DeleteAw, is that it? Thanks for sharing and stopping by my teaser! :)
ReplyDelete-Jelly
Yep. The rules say TWO sentences, so that's it!
DeleteGreat tease! I wonder why the tunnel leads to her apartment? I hate when I find out a book I have is not the first in a series. Hope you're able to track down the others:)
ReplyDeleteMy Teaser
This scene takes place in an old house with an interesting history.
DeleteFinding a book and discovering it's one from the middle of a series can be frustrating. Good luck with finding #1 and #2.
ReplyDeleteMy TT @ Marilyn's Mystery Blog
Thanks, Marilyn. This book was a stand-alone.
DeleteWhat I mean is that this book stands alone, even though it's part of a series.
DeleteOoh, don't you hate it when you start a book, only to discover it's part of a serious . . . and isn't book one? This one sounds interesting--you had me at hidden tunnel. My teaser: If Walls Could Talk
ReplyDeleteLuckily, you don't have to read the prior books to understand this one. But I'll look for #1 and #2 anyhow. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
DeleteSounds very intriguing! Here is my teaser for this week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting discovery.. wonder if there are any other treasures there? Thanks for visiting my Tuesday Teaser:)
ReplyDeleteIntriguing teaser!
ReplyDeleteI love this author and apparently missed this one...and the two previous. I'm going to request them from the library.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST

Woah! Did not see that one coming at all!! Great teaser. I have had similar situations where I pick up a book, read it, and then find out it's the last in series...oops! Thank you for commenting!!
ReplyDeleteThe author did a good job of creating a plot that wasn't dependent on reading the prior books. I enjoyed this one.
DeleteInteresting teaser. I hate reading novels out of turn. Hopefully you'll be able to pick up the first two books later. Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI am notoriously bad at following a series of books in a logical order, but this is definitely a series which sounds as though it need to be read in strict sequence.
The teaser lines are most intriguing, although I am not too sure how I would react if a man just appeared in my bedroom through a hole in the floor!! Perhaps that accounts for the book's title!! If you check out Amazon.co.uk, there is a much more alluring cover image for this book and it fits the spirit of the synopsis exactly IMHO.
I buy most, if not all of my books from charity shops. The only time I will pay full price for a book, is if I am buying it for my father, when it would be one of the latest in a mystery/thriller series.
Enjoy the rest of your book, Yvonne
I like finding "recycled" books too. Going through a stack of books at a thrift store is like a treasure hunt.
Deletei have enjoyed reading Jude Deveraux' books before.. so will check this out as well.. and I too do not like to find out midway that the book is part of a series (I recently read one and could not finish it since there was too much reference to past events from previous books and I had no idea what was going on!)
ReplyDeleteMine is up on my blog and have a giveaway on as well:

ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good! I love Jude Deveraux although I haven't read her books in a long time.
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! I've only read one Jude Devereaux book, but I loved it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI order most of my books at Amazon because I really enjoy the kindle versions. My library doesn't really carry the types of books I read, so that's not an option. This is a great teaser :) Thank you so much for stopping by my TT. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven
ReplyDeleteInteresting Tease - Thanks for stopping by SunnyReads!!
