My name is Erica, and my life is like totally wrecked. Maybe Angelina didn't mean to wreck it, and then again maybe she did.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away -- you don't want to ruin the book for others)
- Share the title and author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.
What a great start to the book!!

This book's author is dedicated to educating kids, parents, and teachers about bullying and its effects -- not just on the victims but on the bullies too.
DeleteI am glad there are more books out on this topic, which is so important nowadays. I hope more young people will read it.
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteI love how Erica expressed how she really felt, but then wanted to give Angelina the "benefit of doubt."
ReplyDeleteThis book will be a great tool to use for effective discourse and dialogue between children. I hope that school counselors will take advantage of this book.
I would love for the Lead counselor in the district where I am employed to see it.
Sandra is talented!

I agree, Cherrye. This is an important book.
DeleteSandra H has confronted bullying with an awareness and insight that is more that necessary -- actually, it's really more of an obligation to support those caught in the awful web of being bullied and tormented. Good job, Sandra!
ReplyDeletePeter Healy, author of "Vengeance Is Sacred."

You are so right, Peter.
DeleteWonderfully timely issue...thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, bullying is a timely issue. Maybe Sandra's book will help change that.
DeleteThis topic seems to be relevant worldwide. I wish it wasn't.

I wouldn't in general be interested in a book on bullying, but I think this opening sounds very approachable. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteGood teaser, what a great opening line!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by ours.
I had to deal with bullies ugh I so hated them
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser, nobody should have to deal with bullying.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
This is a very important book because it says to children that this issue of bullying is important enough that someone has gone to the trouble of writing a book for children to help them deal with it! And I really like the way it begins, and in language I think children will relate to. Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment, "Silver Love." I agree with what you wrote and will make sure Sandra Humphrey sees it.
DeleteSounds interesting. I hate bullies! Thank you for stopping by my teaser! (=
ReplyDeleteI really want to get this book. I work in a middle school and see first hand how bullying affects students. I wonder if you are doing a middle school tour with your book. This would be a GREAT learning/teaching tool.
