Do you like fractured fairy tales? This one is from Barbara Silkstone.
I let him kiss me full on the mouth, trying it out for size. I was just about to return the favor with an extra dollop of passion when the sound of a key turning in the lock sucked the gusto back down my tubes.

From Amazon:
“Indiana Jones meets Romancing the Stone”
“A murderous roller coaster ride through London during a brutal heat wave”
“Snarky Python!”
When we last saw Wendy Darling and Roger Jolley, they’d recovered twelve of the thirteen Egyptian icons stolen from the British Museum. Wendy, Miami Realtor and part-time Tomb Raider, is now in a frantic race against time and a murderer as she searches for the last Lost Boy hidden somewhere in London while a killer heat wave invades the city.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away -- you don't want to ruin the book for others)
- Share the title and author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.
Since you're here on our blog anyhow, why not check out the new trailer for I.O.U. SEX? Just click on the Trailer tab above.
Ha! This one sounds like an interesting read!

Hi!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the lovely comments. Wendy Darlin has a slightly snarky mouth. She needs it to keep one step ahead of her pursuers. Next adventure finds her in Egypt with her archaeologist/lover Roger Jolley.
I love the character names. I'll bet you had fun with that.
DeleteSandy, I did. I cracked myself up with their names. :)
DeleteOh, this one sounds good...love that cover, too!

Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser lines and cover art, has me wondering just who is about to interrupt this 'moment' and just what 'sucking the gusto back down your tubes', could possibly feel like LOL !!
This sounds a little like the book I am reading 'A Dead Red Oleander', and I am wondering if 'London Broil' will work as a stand alone story, or if I need to read the series in sequence to fully understand what is going on?
Thanks for sharing and enjoy the fun of this book,
Yvonne
Barbara descriptions are first-rate and original.
DeleteThank you for the compliments. London Broil is a stand-alone sequel. Wendy and the Lost Boys is the first book in the spin-off series. If Wendy behaves herself the third book in the series should be published around Christmas.
ReplyDeleteShe's a Miami real estate broker working as a tomb-raider while the Florida housing market is slow. A girl has to do what a girl has to do. :)
Thanks for giving more info about London Broil, Barbara. I lived in Miami for quite a while, so I can certainly relate to a lot of what you wrote.
DeleteI love fairy tales, even the fractured kind :) This sounds fun!! Thanks for visiting me :)
ReplyDeleteOh sounds like trouble is at the door!
ReplyDeletesounds like an interesting read ;)
THANK YOU, author Barbara Silkstone, for stopping by and contributing to Teaser Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that teaser and the narrator! This sounds like a book I'd definitely love!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and for stopping by!

Sandy, I love these teasers--I'll have to try one sometime.
ReplyDeleteMicki
Micki, I hope you'll participate in Teaser Tuesdays soon. The only downside is that you'll learn about dozens of really good books that you'll want to buy! So many books, so little time.
DeleteUh oh! someone's getting caught! :O Lol Great teaser! And thank you for stopping by My TT :D
ReplyDeleteNeyra @DarkestAddictions
